Amtrak Employee Referral Program Rules Overview
- All current full-time and part-time Amtrak employees are eligible to participate in the Employee Referral Program. Interns are not eligible.
- Human Resources staff, Management Committee members, and those directly responsible for the hiring decision of the referred candidate are ineligible to participate in the program.
- The Employee Referral Program only applies to posted non-agreement covered positions.
- To refer a candidate, the employee must fill out the online employee referral form, and submit the candidate's resume to a job opening listed on the TeamRewards site.
- If the referred employee is hired, and remains an employee for at least 90 days, the referring employee will receive the associated bonus points.
- The referring employee must be a current employee with Amtrak to receive the bonus points.
- If a candidate is referred to more than one vacancy, the referral points will be credited to the employee who refers the candidate to the position for which the candidate is hired.
- If a referred candidate is hired within 365 days of the referral date to a job other than that to which he/she was referred, the referring employee is eligible for any points associated with the job posting.
- Interns currently working for Amtrak will not be considered as an employee referred candidate.
- There is no limit on the number of referrals an employee can submit.
- Former employees will be considered under the employee referral program for open non-agreement covered vacancies.
- Candidates who previously submitted their application to Amtrak can be submitted to the Employee Referral Program.
- Current contractors/contracted employees are eligible to participate in the Employee Referral Program.
