The closing date for this position is March 11, 2010. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $105,000 per year

Position Summary:
This position will have the responsibility to develop, implement, review and analyze budget performance for the Southern California Metrolink Commuter Operation and support the Superintendent Commuter Operations with SCRRA, Amtrak/Metrolink and Amtrak corporate financial reporting requirements. Monitor expenditures against approved budget, ensuring compliance with financial, accounting and system procedures. Prepares project invoices for SCRRA and in the collection of SCRRA payments. Track and analyze financial performance of Metrolink operation to ensure compliance with revenue and expense goals, providing Amtrak and SCRRA management with follow up analysis and recommendations. Collects performance measurement statistics for Metrolink services including on time performance, employee hours worked, etc., to calculate incentive payments due Amtrak. Manages the collection, analysis and reporting of financial data for use in management decisions, including coding data, performing calculations and verifying the reliability of informational resources.

Education:
Must have a bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business related field, or the equivalent combination of training and work experience. Prefer MBA or CPA.

Work Experience:
Must have demonstrated experience budgeting and financial reporting/accounting experience. Must have working knowledge of Amtraks Financial Information (FIS), Business Object and proficiency in Excel. Prefer working knowledge of Fingate, General Ledger, and CICSRPOD. Prior experience in Amtraks Transportation or Finance Departments and working knowledge of passenger rail service costing.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.

10 Percent
