POSITION: Foreman II (2)
DEPARTMENT: Mechanical

SALARY: $28.83 per hour

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL APPLICANTS

DUTIES: Supervises and directs employees to safely perform duties of cleaning, servicing, and inspecting passenger cars and locomotives in accordance with FRA/Amtrak guidelines and standards. Coordinate the movement, inspections, testing, servicing and repair of cars in compliance with CFR 49 and Amtrak standards. Monitor staffing needs, inspection repairs, running logs, MAP forms, and timely submission of Quality Assurance reports. Maintain log of inbound/outbound coaches, schedules, and time cards; conduct daily safety meetings in an effort to observe, correct and train staff as related to safety; order materials and equipment and ensure maintenance of inventory.

EDUCATION: Must have a H.S. diploma or equivalent.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have relevant mechanical experience, preferable railroad experience. Must have satisfactory work history, attendance and safety record. Experience with WMS System, Arrow, and Microsoft Office. Prior satisfactory job performance required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be able to perform the job duties and maintain current certifications for the job he/she is bidding. Work within the guidelines of the System Safety Program. Keep a clean and safe work area. Familiar with company tools and materials required in the course of work performed. Work in and promote a teamwork environment in order to achieve a quality product. Adhere to Amtraks Standard of Excellence Policy.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate in English, both written and orally.
