The closing date for this position is February 12, 2010. The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $106,000 per year.

Summary of Duties:
This position has direct responsibility for administration and monitoring of existing commuter agreements and assist in the negotiating of new agreements, contract amendments and change orders. Coordinate the administration of commuter agreements with the Amtrak Law and Finance Departments to ensure appropriate financial targets and compliance with related Amtrak requirements and policy, as well as with Labor Relations, Human Resources, Real Estate, Government Affairs, Procurement and Materials Management. Identify and evaluate potential strategic changes designed to improve service and/or financial performance. Manage development and implementation of creative service offerings to meet growing customer needs; direct internal cross-departmental efforts to improve Amtraks operation and customer satisfaction.

Education:
Must have a Bachelors degree in business, transportation or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. Prefer a Masters degree in business, transportation or related field.

Work Experience:
Must have significant business and planning experience; demonstrated experience in the transportation industry. Superior quantitative and analytical skills. Demonstrated negotiation and customer service abilities. Prefer understanding of Amtrak operations and infrastructure. Experience working with governmental agencies or commuter agencies.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines.

10 percent
