Position Title: Loss Prevention Analyst

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Provides technical and administrative support to the Supervisory Loss Prevention Coordinator for all Revenue Protection unit programs. Performs minor in-depth audits and revenues; data research and analysis; analyzes system data, conducts searches from various sources including Amtrak automated systems, business and financial information systems, legal sources and internet databases. Prepares reports, summaries and updates on various issues related to on board train, station review sand any other concerns. Makes recommendations that identify real or potential problems, defects, trends or patterns of non-compliance on board Amtrak trains and in Amtrak stations; analyzes and assembles investigative fact finding into administrative and/or criminal referral packages. Provides training, administrative, logistical, editorial and other support when needed to Revenue Protection staff, research teams, investigators and Amtrak OIG Agents system wide.

EDUCATION: Associates degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Criminal Justice or other related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Demonstrate analytical/critical thinking skills. Excellent editing skills. Analytical, research, investigative, loss prevention and/or audit experience.

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience in analyzing and assembling investigative fact of findings into administrative and/or criminal referral packages. Knowledge of requirements at administrative or court hearings.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of Amtraks operating and financial programs. Experience in Amtrak's business systems (Arrow, CICS, STARS, FIS, SIR and various other internal programs).

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
