POSITION: Supervisor C&S - ARASA
DEPARTMENT: Engineering

SALARY RANGE: $35.89 per hour

DUTIES: This position is responsible for the development of work estimates for signals, the planning process, budget management, laying out of job tasks, drawing/sketches, material lists/costs, time estimates, labor clearances, and maintenance of labor costs. Maintains knowledge of signal maintenance projects, contracts, policies and actions related to workforce deployment. Maintains a working knowledge of Amtrak communication systems. Observes safe work performance standards and operations in completion of daily tasks and provides prompt reports in cases of accident, injury and illness. Exercises leadership and judgment in daily interactions with the work force including counseling, motivating, organizing and directing. Conducts safety briefings, observes safety compliance, maintains qualifications (AMT 23/27. RWP,NORAC,) and coordinates with other departments. Performs maintenance troubleshooting skills and assists in the performance of all FRA signal tests when applicable. Leads employees within the guidelines of the system safety program by being alert to physical hazards which affect operations, including the modifications of, recognition of, or cessation of operations when conditions exist that conflict with a safe operating environment for Amtrak or others.
EDUCATION: Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent. Prefer advanced technical school electrical with journeyman qualifications.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have demonstrated supervisory experience. Working knowledge of signal systems with demonstrated field experience in C&S, AMT 23/27, RWP/NORAC, AMT-2, BRS Labor Agreement. Prefer extensive C&S field experience. Prior satisfactory job performance is required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have ARASA Supervisor qualifications. Must possess valid drivers license. Capable of troubleshooting signal circuits and equipment; ability to read blueprints, standards and plans; working knowledge of job briefing process, BRS Agreement, Overhaul, Maintenance and Testing of Relays/CTC, C&S Material and Product knowledge, Accident investigation, Confined Space, AMT 23 and 27.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: 20%
COMMENTS: Headquarters: Penn Coach Yard, Philadelphia, PA; Territory: MP 6.7 to Division Line MP 76 & Philadelphia Terminal to State Interlocking MP 104.3; Tour of Duty: 11:00 PM 7:00 AM; Rest Days: Wed/Thurs Meal Period 20 minute paid meal.
