The National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) seeks a Systems Developer responsible for supporting the designs, development, testing and implementation of business applications in a client/server and mainframe environment.
Maintain/enhance existing applications software; design, develop, test and implement new business applications; break down complex tasks into manageable pieces; estimate reliably the time, effort and resources required to complete a task; complete tasks on time and within budget; maintain state-of-good repair for multiple system applications; develop test plans; develop and maintain comprehensive user documentation and training materials; document all issues during development tasks; develop viable, cost effective technical solutions to application problems; participate in pre- and post-implementation project milestone reviews.
Position requires Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, engineering, mathematics or equivalent and five (5) years experience in systems development using .net framework, SQL, and Visual C++.
