SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for assisting in the implementation of outside counsel budget and invoice management and procedures, including processing of outside counsel invoices, accruals and providing administrative support for attorneys on budgeting matters. Provide initial review of outside counsel invoices to identify inconsistencies with Outside Counsel Guidelines. Identifies and resolves cost and billing problems associated with the service providers, contractors and/or vendors and ensures accuracy and correctness of all invoices prior to submission. Review all legal and vendor invoices to ensure accurate account coding. Review accounts on a monthly basis to determine accurate postings. Implement corrective action of any deviation discovered in the execution of the Outside Counsel Guidelines. Responsible for complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements for the Law Department. Maintain all timekeeper approvals and rate information on ECase matter records. Provides assistance to Outside Counsel Engagement Administrator as requested.

EDUCATION: College background in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of and experience with financial software programs including Microsoft Excel and FinGate or equivalent accounting programming.

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated accounting experience working in a Law Firm or Law Department billing/accounting department, preferable having responsibility for large departmental budgets and administration.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work well with numerous administrative and senior level personnel. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interact effectively with all levels of management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
