POSITION: Foreman III
DEPARTMENT: Mechanical

RATE OF PAY: $29.74 per hour

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL APPLICANTS
DUTIES: This position is responsible for all wheel shop quality issues per the A.A.R. Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices, Section J Specification for Quality Assurance M 1003 in accordance with Amtrak, F.R.A. and A.A.R. rules of standards and recommended practices. This position will work with mechanical engineering and location quality officer in improving existing quality systems and procedures. Will review current work procedures and make adjustments as required. Develop metrics to measure the quality level of the shop. Responsible to train and maintain training records for shop personnel in A.A.R. and shop procedures. Represents the wheel shop in all A.A.R. compliance audits. Must pass A.A.R. Quality Assurance Auditor's Training.
EDUCATION: Must have High School diploma or equivalent; or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience. Prefer Technical school.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have experience in a shop craft i.e., electrician, machinist, car repair, sheet metal. Demonstrated proficiency on the job.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Effective writing skills. Familiar with WMS. Prior satisfactory job performance required.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
