Job Title: Signal Helper (5) Positions
Location: Niles, MI
Dept.: Engineering Department
Salary: Per Labor Agreement
Duties include but are not limited to, the installation of Railroad Signal systems including digging and installation of underground cable and conduit, signal cases, bungalows, automatic switches, signals and foundations. Installation, repair and maintenance of Railroad Signal systems consisting of the following: AC and DC
circuits, Electro-mechanical and electro-pneumatic devices, Office to Field code units and pulsating DC coding equipment. Also, use and interpret electronic measuring devices and calibrated test equipment, field test batteries, relays, both AC and DC line circuits, read and
interpret schematic drawings and construct circuits from electrical drawings.
Must have a high school diploma or a GED.
Prefer some college or technical training in electronics or electrical maintenance.
Must have mechanical inclination or knowledge of hand tools. Must have a safe record.
Prefer some type of trade or mechanical experience. Experience in electrical or electronics.
Candidate must be willing and able to perform physically demanding type of work in all types of weather, work in a safe manner with minimal supervision, possess a valid drivers license.
Must be able to understand and speak English.

Must have prior satisfactory job performance.
