Summary of Duties:
The position supports the operating Divisions and the Chief Transportation Officers Operating Practices staff by: Delivering initial and recurrent instruction and examination of employees in Transportation, Engineering and Mechanical Departments who are governed by railroad operating rules. Providing guidance and interpretation of all regulatory rules to Division managers responsible for supervising those employees. Organizing and scheduling classes, procuring materials and coordinating and communicating with Division management to ensure mandatory participation is achieved while balancing the needs of the Division. Supporting new technologies that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of instruction used to qualify/re-qualify operating employees. Providing guidance and technical advice to all interested parties.
Education:
Must have a Bachelors degree in business or transportation or related field or an equivalent combination of work experience, training and education.
Word Experience:
Must be currently qualified in Engine service.
Other Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of operating rules and practices and special instructions governing NEC operations or off-corridor operations, and related federal regulations. Knowledge of Amtrak train operations. Demonstrated ability to deliver a comprehensive operating rules training and testing program. Effective organizational, administrative and personal computing skills as demonstrated through past experience.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Superior effectiveness in communication skills, including writing, speaking, negotiation, and presentation/platform. Demonstrated drive, ambition and leadership ability.
