SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Program Director is responsible for the oversight of multiple projects that collectively support the ARRA, PRIAA and other IT capital funded programs. These projects include, but are not limited to, the Enterprise Document Management & Collaboration, Single Sign-on and Certificate and Key Management (IAM) and Train Communications Enterprise (TCE). The position will also oversee scheduling and management of Solution Architects to these and other numerous capital funded projects, and represent Enterprise Architecture in the Amtrak IT outsourcing (ITII) program.
The primary duties include:
-Manage the Documentum, IAM and Document and Collaboration programs; assess the impact of individual projects on overall program initiatives to identify synergies and dependencies.
-Integrate project schedules and identify critical path across program-related projects; manage program deliverables, including risk assessment, program scope, program organization, issues and standards and control procedures.
-Monitor program portfolio for progress and quality assurance; measure progress against plans; track budget and forecasting elements from a program perspective; report to management.
-Manage the implementation of individual projects, including requirements definition, project documentation and daily project activities.
-Prepare and delivery formal presentations to management and stakeholders.
-Manage SAs on capital projects and track architecture deliverables.

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters degree in Business, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other related field. PMP Certification.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Extensive experience as a project management professional with an in-depth knowledge of standard project management concepts, practices and procedures plus a complete understanding of SDLC.

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE: Extensive related work experience with, and strong functional knowledge of, Amtrak systems or travel industry systems. Work experience with Architecture teams and modeling tools.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Expert in Microsoft Project for schedule development and management. Expert in Microsoft PowerPoint. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio. Experience with managing multi-million dollar projects, budgeting and reporting.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Skilled communicator and writer who can get the point across and tailor the communication for the receiving audience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Will supervise 10 direct reports and 12-15 indirect reports.

TRAVEL: 5%
