Summary of Duties:
Sets up and operates both hand and power fabricating and forming machines. Locates and marks dimensions and reference lines on sheet metal. Sets up and operates soldering and welding equipment, including soldering iron, soft and silver soldering and brazing, stick, tig, mig and gas welding. Grinds seams, joints and barred surfaces. Uses stainless steel, sheet metal, steel tubing, copper, brass and black iron pipe. Cuts, threads, beads, joins, secures and tests metal and non-metal pipe and fittings such as brass, copper, iron, steel, glass or plastic. Installs new piping systems and machinery for new facility services. Maintains and repairs existing steam, water, air and gas piping systems. Repairs water coolers, toilets, sinks, hot water heaters, boilers, water treatment and all associated power house piping systems, including building heaters, furnaces and ventilation systems.
Education:
Must have a high school education or equivalent. Prefer college degree, trade school or military training in the related field.
Work Experience:
Must have at least 5 years in a welding capacity. Prefer any welding experience and mechanical aptitude.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Must have good communication skills; read, speak and write English.
Comments:
Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
