The closing date for this position is November 10, 2009. The rate of pay for this position is $24.94 per hour.
Summary of Duties:
Conducts inbound and outbound inspections, repairs and periodic maintenance to all locomotives in accordance with FRA/OEM guidelines. Ensures MAP forms are signed and dated transferring defects to MAP 9s. Ensuring MAP 100s/816s are signed and the blue flag procedures are adhered to. Maintains proper care and use of materials, vehicles, equipment and machines, and Federal reports, FRA forms, and Amtrak status reports as stipulated. Performs air brake tests. Determines limits on the brake equipment and running equipment during inspection routines and maintenance repairs. Work within the guidelines of the System Safety Program by being alert to physical hazards. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Must have a high school education or equivalent.
Work Experience:
Must have a minimum of two years of Machinist experience. Prefer four years of railroad related experience.
Other Requirements:
Must be physically able to perform the above duties. Must be able to work from written assignment sheets and sign-off work completed on printed forms. Must have a valid drivers license.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
