SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Senior Financial Analyst will serve as a primary liaison to assigned departments and will be responsible, along with a Financial Planning Director, for the consolidation, preparation and analysis of a large portion of Amtraks economic stimulus and capital budget. In addition to budgeting, the Senior Financial Analyst will manage monthly forecasts (full year basis) of both economic stimulus and capital expenses of assigned departments. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for cultivating and maintaining favorable relationships in support of Amtrak operations and objectives.
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting or other related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters degree in Business Administration.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated experience developing budgets, performing financial analysis, working with financial models and creating financial reports.
PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience in a large, corporate level financial planning environment. Experience with financial reporting software products (Outlook Soft).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet applications. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Access or other desktop database programs. Strong quantitative skills.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Strong oral and written communication skills.
