DUTIES: To perform the duties of Carman with regard to inspections and repairs of passenger train equipment, baggage cars and locomotives; and other duties as may be assigned in accordance with applicable work rules and agreements.
EDUCATION: Must have high school diploma
EDUCATION: Preferred Technical Training.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have some mechanical experience or Technical Training.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Preferred familiar with rail equipment trucks, wheels and air brake system; interior inspection in accordance wit FRA, CFR 238 TIER1. Be able to pass tests to become Qualified Maintenance Person.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have prior satisfactory job performance. Must also be able to follow instruction from supervision and be able to perform job with a minimum amount of supervision. Willing to work varied hours, weekends and holidays.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must be able to read, speak and understand English language. Must have good oral and written communication skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
