Rate of Pay: $24.94 per Labor Agreement
Duties: Successful applicant assigned to this position must be a detail oriented self starter that is capable of multi-tasking in a dynamic environment, and must have demonstrated abilities in the repair of cars and locomotives. Excellent communication skills a must. This is a critical position that will play a vital role in maintaining the work flow through the facility. The Lead Electrician must also be familiar with all equipment maintenance procedures. Maintenance alerts, Maintenance Bulletins, Shop Superintendent Notices and inspection procedures for diesel locomotives. The Lead Electrician must be able to enter the required data into WMS for material requisitions via the EMR process, labor reporting and the proper handling of work orders and researching locomotive repair history in WMS. Incumbent must also be qualified on the Amtrak Mechanical department Operating Rules and must comply with and enforce Amtraks Standards of Excellence policies.
Education: Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Strong preference for HVAC Certification . Tech School or Journeyman Electrician qualifications or AA or AS degree completed from an accredited school in Electronics, Electrical Technician.
Work Experience: Must have Journeyman electrical experience. Prefer Experience in maintenance of railroad equipment.
Other Requirements: Interacts well with others.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Prior satisfactory work performance required.
