DUTIES: Supervise and Direct employees to safely perform duties of cleaning, servicing, and inspecting locomotives and passenger cars in accordance with FRA/Amtrak guidelines and standards. Coordinates the movement, inspection, testing, serving and repair of cars and locomotives in compliance with CFR 49 and Amtrak standards, Ensures compliance with FDA, EPA and OSHA guidelines, Monitors staffing needs, inspection repairs, running logs, MAP Forms, and timely submission of Quality Assurance reports. Counsels and motivates employees. Maintains log of inbound/outbound coaches and locomotives, schedules and time cards. Conducts daily safety meetings in an effort to observe, correct, and train staff as related to safety. Ensures maintenance of inventory by ordering material and equipment as needed. Works in guidelines of Amtraks system Safety program.
EDUCATION: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
EDUCATION: Prefer Technical Training. Degree in Mechanical or electrical.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have excellent leadership skills and leadership team building. Ability to read and interpret schematics and blue prints. Must maintain a general understanding of railroad operations.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have good oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills required.
