Summary of Duties:
Provides field management for all aspects of service delivery, with specific responsibility for crew base personnel and on-board field supervision. Primary responsibilities include: provides direction to ensure compliance of crew base personnel with corporate policies and procedures relative to accounting procedures, FDA requirements and safety; ensures proper crew base personnel training and testing consistent with service requirements and other items of regulartory compliance; supervises employee standards, staffing, training, disciplinary action; coordinates management of OBS on employee standards, staffing, training, disciplinary actions and other personnel actions; coordinates and communicates with divisions regarding terminal services; train operations and station services; coordinates with other field management, including stations, operations and mechanical regarding service disruptions and recovery; manages the overall crew base budget, provides information on variances, minimizes overtime and ensures goals are achieved; implements division's safety plan to ensure compliance by all employees, and respond to, investigate and complete required paperwork for employee and passenger injuries in compliance with Amtrak policies.
Education (must have):
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) High School Equivalency Diploma.
Education (preferred):
Bachelors Degree in Transportation, Management or related field, or equivalent work experience, education and/or training.
Work experience (must have):
Demonstrates leadership and supervisory skills. Some relevant passenger transportation services experience.
Work experience (preferred):
Qualified on applicable operating rules
Other requirements:
Demonstrates ability working under pressure, executing multiple tasks with and composure. Working knowledge of applicable labor agreements and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates ability to qualify on applicable operating rules.
Communication skills:
Demonstrates experience communicating orally and in writing within and outside of the organization.
Supervisory responsibilities:
Will supervise directly and in directly approximately 10 to 300 personnel.
