SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The primary function of Corporate Finance is to manage, restructure and repay Amtraks $2.9 billion portfolio of capital leases and other debt. The Senior Debt Portfolio Manager will play a critical role in these efforts, leading and/or supporting as appropriate. The Senior Debt Portfolio Manager will determine from lease and other debt agreements what challenges and opportunities Amtrak faces, quantify the financial effects, and negotiate the results. The Senior Debt Portfolio Manager will lead and/or support arranging fuel hedges, executing other financial transactions, providing advanced quantitative financial analysis, and supporting the financial analysis needs of the broader organization.

EDUCATION: Masters degree in Finance or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

WORK EXPERIENCE: 10-15 years of experience in the Treasurers Department of a Fortune 500 company (preferred) or in a financial institution. Hands-on experience arranging debt.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Expertise in analysis of loan agreements to determine Amtraks constraints and opportunities. Excellent quantitative and analytical skills. Excellent leadership and negotiation skills. Mastery of Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint. High ethical standards.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate the efforts of legal counsel, financial advisors, appraisers in planning and executing financial transactions; participate in, or lead, inter-departmental task forces; no direct reports.

TRAVEL: 5%
