DUTIES: Diagnoses cause of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems malfunction or failure of control equipment and components on equipment using technical manuals, troubleshooting skills, and computerized diagnostic equipment. Ability to read schematics, interpret technical documents and instructions. Trains craft technicians in proper troubleshooting techniques and demonstrates maintenance and repair procedures to craft technicians. Possess problem solving and analytical skills, ability to define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions. Will ride trains on a random basis to determine en-route performance of control/mechanical systems and to assess dynamic state of system repairs. Ability to train others.

EDUCATION: Must have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have demonstrated experience in troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems using computer diagnostic equipment, ability to read schematics interpret technical documents

PREFERRED: Ability to read schematics, interpret technical documents, define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions. Knowledge of high voltage electrical systems. Ability to train others. Prior job satisfactory is required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have knowledge of FRA, FDA, and AAR Standards and Regulations.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must possess effective writing and interpersonal skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NONE

TRAVEL: 25%
