INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL APPLICANTS

DUTIES: Directly supervise 30 T&E employees and 2 Yardmasters to ensure a safe and efficient Terminal Operation. Establishes and provides leadership, mentoring, and guidance to T&E and Yardmasters regarding daily performance. Ensures employees compliance with Rules and Regulations for Amtrak Policies and Operating practices, and initiates action for non-compliance in a consistent and fair manner. Manage employees and train operations to optimize On-Time-Performance, and recommend ideas to improve performance. Respond to service disruptions and handle promptly to minimize passenger inconvenience and train delays. Maintain employee records, conduct efficiency tests, and ensure compliance.

EDUCATION: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Prefer
a Bachelors Degree in Business or Transportation or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have extensive experience in railroad. Excellent written and verbal skills.

PREFERRED: Must have extensive familiarity with train make up and Terminal Operations. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills. Qualified on the physical characteristic of the Northeast Division West. Prior job satisfactory is required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must maintain current operating rule qualifications. Demonstrated knowledge of CRF 49 requirements and UTU/BLE contracts.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must be able to maintain a cooperative work environment. Must have the ability to gain the willing cooperation of others. Basic Computer application knowledge.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises 32 employees.

TRAVEL: 10%

COMMENTS: This position is headquartered in Penn Station, NYC.
